Travel Requirements

EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW

South Africa’s established infrastructure allows for easy travel into and around our beautiful country. Your first port of entry into South Africa will be at our international airports either in Johannesburg or Cape Town. From either airport, you can catch your short connecting flight to Port Elizabeth or East London where African Brothers Safari will collect you.

Please ensure that when booking your safari you allow time for travelling, you will need to arrive the day before your safari begins and leave the day after it ends. Please check that your travel itinerary includes this.

Passports are required for travel to South Africa. African Brothers Safari will provide you with an invitation letter once we have received your travel itinerary. Please note that for the most part no Visas are required. American and European Union passports are sufficient for entries into South Africa.

Please ensure the airline you have chosen allows firearm travel when flying with your weapons – these are, SAA (South African Airlink) and Delta Airlines. Rifle Permits helps sort out your permits for your weapons and offers different services to fit the pocket. Please contact the airline a minimum of three days before your departure to inform them you will be travelling with weapons.

  3. It is mandatory for travellers to wear a face mask at all times. Children six years and under are exempt from this.

  5. As of yet - it is not necessary to be vaccinated in order to enter into South Africa.
